Research in Motion Limited (NASD: RIMM)
I’m not so much making any recommendation here as I am an observation. The company is trying to make a comeback, with all of its chips stacked on the rollout of the newest Blackberry. There has been a lot of hype around the phone and it seems to have been helping with the stock performance. Of all the equities I scan each day, this is the only ticker with a daily RSI tracking over 80. So the technical outperformance in recent trade is definitely turning heads. From what I can see, the new version of the phone will offer both a virtual and physical keyboard model, which is a relief as I am a big fan of the physical keyboard and have always wanted to see a phone with iPhone capabilities but at the same time offering the much easier to use physical keyboard. I am still a Blackberry user to this day and will be rooting for the company to do well. That being said, while the longer-term prospects could indeed be bright, short-term technicals are potentially warning of near-term declines. I will be standing aside but watching closely for any opportunities that might present in the days ahead.
